Witt Lining Systems has received notice from the United States Trademark Office that Certificates of Registration will be offered for SPECTRA BLUE and EXCELINE for the company with regards to the use of these names to identify specific formulations of PVC as used in the industrial corrosion resistant lining industry.

Flexible PVC contains a phthalate oil plasticizer that makes the material flexible. Some of that plasticizer can sit on the surface of a flexible PVC liner. Some solutions that use tank liners in may be sensitive to this oil. In which case Witt Lining Systems recommends leaching the liner.

Unfortunately accidents happen. Accidents can happen to flexible PVC tank liners as well. Sometimes an operator can drop something sharp on a liner, or a liner can be unfolded when still cold, or something heavy with a sharp edge can be dragged across a floor liner, or a heater could burn a hole in a liner. No matter what the cause of the damage, one of the benefits to a Witt drop in PVC tank liner is that it can be quickly and easily repaired.

Prior to our invention of the Wittclip™ fasteners the most common method of securing a drop in liner in a tank was with a drawstring rope. The problem with the drawstring rope is that it doesn’t securely lock the tank liner to the lip of the tank. When the tank is filled with solution it can pull the liner into the tank and greatly affect the fit. The bigger a liner gets the more prominent this problem becomes.
