SIMPLE LEAK DETECTION AND TANK LINERS

Flexible PVC tank liners have many advantages over bonded tank liners. Besides longer service life, faster installation, and ease of repair, it is easy and inexpensive to have an effective leak detection system.

By not being bonded to the tank wall, the natural interstitial space creates an environment for very easy leak detection. Leak detection can be as simple as drilling a small ¼ in diameter hole in the corner or bottom of the tank. Attach to that hole a valve. Periodically open the valve to check for any liquid and if some is present then proceed with locating and patching the liner.

 
Other leak detection systems can involve liquid sensing probes or conductivity sensors but no bonded system can provide such a simple and inexpensive leak detection system.
