There are several ways to handle outlets with a drop in liner. Our recommendation as the best method is the use of a bulkhead fitting. A bulkhead fitting eliminates the need to fabricate a pass through outlet in the liner and avoids any potential failures of a fabricated outlet.

Sometimes it may be necessary to double check the dimensions of drop in liner against the dimensions of the tank or containment area to be lined itself. With the liner unfolded nearby it is possible to measure the dimensions of the liner just as we would on our shop floor as part of the final quality inspection.

One of the features of a drop in liner is that the PVC liner is not bonded directly to the tank or substrate wall. Besides the benefits of not having to sand blast, do extensive prep work, install the liner yourself, no cure time, etc., by not being bonded there is a natural space between the liner and the tank wall that allows for easy leak detection versus a bonded liner or applied coating systems. There are several leak detection systems that are simple to install and very inexpensive to incorporate with your drop in liner.
